Patchouli

Patchouli is a mod that's supposed to make the creation of documentation for the various mods and modpacks in Minecraft really, really simple to make. In short, this provides the modders or modpack makers with the potential for their in-game documentations to be well-written, professional, well-crafted, user-friendly books rather than weakly coded mods. Named after the legendary Lexica Botania from Botania Mod, Patchouli focuses on providing great flexibility through its system that can better let documentation easily be aesthetically pleasing to viewers.

  • Data-Driven Content Creation: Because Patchouli uses data files to create documentation, with no code needed. Content is pretty straightforward to make, data-driven and without ever needing to touch patchouli itself.
  • In-Game Text Preview: As you're writing your documentation, Patchouli in-game will preview the text for easy revising and refinement before publishing live into the game.
  • Rich Text Formatting System: This mod supports rich text formatting, including macros for advanced formatting. This will give full control over the look and structure of the pages.
  • Advancement-Driven Content Unlocking: With your book of Patchouli, you can unlock content with advancements, making it super easy to guide players through content or tasks as they progress along.
  • Nested Categories & Bookmarkable Entries: Organize content into some nested category structure, and have the ability for players to star important entries for easy revisiting. A system like this automatically keeps documentation intuitive and really user-friendly.
