FerriteCore

FerriteCore optimizes Minecraft's memory usage by various means. The amount of saved amount depends on the mod pack. In version 2.5.9 of All Of Fabric 3, RAM usage decreases from 1,792 MB to 984 MB. For comparison, using Hydrogen instead of FerriteCore yields 1,335 MB of RAM usage. Values were measured after world generation with a fixed seed and waiting for two minutes.

Should this be installed on the server or just on the client?

Some apply to client side only, but many optimizations will involve the server as well. It is hereby suggested that this should be installed on both sides.

Is this compatible with other mods?

Most likely, yes. One exception is Hydrogen, which runs on all recent FerriteCore releases on those Minecraft versions where Hydrogen was officially released but builds for 1.18+ are without and won't get any Hydrogen releases since it was officially archived.
