Once the sun sets in Palworld, the feel of the game shifts, and you’ll experience a wide range of new challenges and threats. New Pals emerge, the temperature drops, and the darkness brings both danger and opportunity. Alas, if you’re not prepared, a night exploring the lands of Palworld could quickly become a disaster. However, if you know what gear to bring, how to navigate in the dark, and which Pals to keep on your team, surviving the night should become a little easier.

With plenty of new challenges to face during the nighttime, making sure you’ve prepared is a must. After all, if you go into the night without preparing, there’s a very good chance you won’t make it out the other side! Fortunately, if this is something you’ve been wondering about, the following steps should allow you to prepare thoroughly for the ordeal ahead.
But, of course, before you thrust yourself into the perils of nightly exploration, it’s critical that your game is running smoothly (both day and night). Luckily, with private Palworld server hosting, you know your game will run with 24/7 uptime!
Before anything else, if you’re planning to tackle your first night in Palworld, you’ll need to ensure you’ve got the right gear! Indeed, stepping out into the darkness without preparation is asking for trouble.
First of all, as perhaps the most important first step, make sure you craft a hand-held torch to light the way. In addition, since the nights get pretty cold, you’ll also want to equip warm clothing (like a cloth outfit) to reduce the damage you take from cold. It’s a good idea to also make yourself a common shield, as this can help protect you from those almost inevitable attacks.
Of course, these are the main essential choices of gear, but it’s also a pretty good idea to bring food along for the night too. After all, gathering forageable goodies such as berries will be pretty tricky overnight, so it’s a better idea to bring along some extra snacks to keep you fulfilled all night.

Your choice of gear is vital, but don’t forget your Pal team as well - after all, you don’t want to be venturing out of your base without having the right team to back you up! Luckily, choosing a good team of Pals can make your nightly exploration a little more successful. For one thing, having a glowing Pal by your side—like Foxparks—is invaluable. These Pals act as mobile light sources, so you won’t always have to be holding the torch (which can limit your ability to use tools or defend yourself). Foxparks is one of the earliest glowing Pals you can get, making it a solid early companion for nighttime adventures.
Furthermore, in the night, Dark-element Pals are much more common. These Pals can often spawn in quite large numbers; as such, bringing along a team that’s strong against dark-types, such as Dragon-type Pals like Chillet and Dinossom, could be a good choice. Of course, you probably won’t find these on your first day of playing, but as soon as you get them, they could be useful team members to keep around!
There’s plenty to see and explore during the night, but make sure you always stay alert—hostile Pals and even Syndicate Thugs can still roam at night, and they may be harder to spot, especially if you’re busy! As such, always keep your senses engaged, and try to keep your wits about you. Don’t forget to keep your supplies in mind during the night, too; it’s easy to run out of ammo and the like in the dark if you’re not thinking about this much!

If you’d rather skip the hazards of night entirely, there’s some good news: you absolutely can (and this is probably a good idea until you’re suitably well-equipped to tackle the nightly terrors). To this end, your first priority should be unlocking and building a Shoddy Bed. It’s one of the earliest tech tree items you can craft, only needing basic resources like wood, fibre, and wool, and you’ll need to build it under under a roof to work. Fortunately, once set up, the Shoddy Bed allows you to sleep until morning, so you won’t have to worry about night again.
Yes! If you build a bed in your base, you skip the night completely and sleep through until the following morning.
Any team of Pals is good to bring along at night in Palworld, but Dragon-type Pals do well against Dark types, making them the best choices. Moreover, bringing along glowing Pals (like Foxparks) can also prove incredibly helpful in many cases.
Surviving the night in Palworld isn’t just about avoiding roaming dark type Pals and collecting loot. Indeed, with plenty of different challenges to face compared to the daytime, you can’t just go in with your fingers crossed; you’ll need to make time for smart preparation, choosing the right gear and using the darkness as an opportunity. And, so long as you have a bed to fall back on in your base in case you need to retreat, you’ll hopefully be successful in your new exploration of Palworld’s nighttime landscape.
