Fires. They’re devastating in both the real world and the game world - and that’s no different in Palworld! Indeed, fires in Palworld are incredibly destructive - but they’re also pretty easy to avoid or put out. Still, you’ll need to understand what to look for as part of this; as such, today, we’re exploring how to reduce the fire risk in Palworld to help with planning your own game.

Most fires in Palworld aren’t just random. They’re triggered by a few key things usually, and knowing about these can help inform your plans and base structures overall.
The most common cause for fires to break out in Palworld is raids, where damage to your base structures can very quickly lead to a fire breaking out. In particular, while fires can break out during the raid itself, they can quickly get out of control; however, even more critically, if you lose the raid, your entire base will be set ablaze!
It’s also important to keep in mind here that fire type Pals can also be a major risk to your base if a fire breaks out. In particular, enemy fire types can often cause your base to catch alight as a result of their attacks. Given this thought, if you notice any enemy fire type Pals approaching your base structures, it’s well worth leading them away from your camp before you start to engage them. Indeed, it only takes one stray fire type attack to potentially set your base alight!
Given this, tackling the blaze quickly’s a must. However, if your game is lagging, it can be tricky to keep up. Luckily, with private Palworld server hosting, you’ll enjoy 24/7 uptime, so even a fast-spreading blaze wont outpace your server speed.

Right, so things didn’t quite go to plan, and your base is ablaze—what now? Well, don’t panic too much yet, because while fires can be incredibly damaging and dangerous, they’re not impossible to control! However, there’s no built-in fire extinguisher or water hose mechanic (at least not yet), so you’ll need to get a little more creative if you want to put out a fire in Palworld.
The key to putting out fires in Palworld is to have a team of Water-type Pals that you can call upon - so, even if you don’t usually explore with a water-type team, make sure you’ve always got at least a few Water-types in your Paldeck in case a fire should start. Ideally, assign water-type Pals high-risk areas, such as those by the edges of your base where attacks are more likely to come, or near any wooden structures in your base. In this way, if a fire breaks out, you’ll have Pals already working on your base that can spring into action and start dousing the flames.
Of course, relying on your Pals alone may not always be reliable; for example, your Pals could be idle or somewhere else at the time (such as resting). Or, failing that - maybe your water type Pals are just caught up trying to put out the flames, while the fire spreads in other areas? In those moments, you’ll need to take a more drastic approach; manually disassembling any burning items is the best way to stop the spread of the fire until your water types can catch up.
So, we’ve seen how to tackle fires in Palworld - but why not just leave them to extinguish themselves? Well, fires in Palworld do have very real stakes, so you can’t afford to just leave them to burn endlessly. Indeed, fires eat through walls, floors, furniture, and crafting stations—you name it, and if it’s flammable, the fire will get it. Since resources in Palworld can be time-consuming to gather, especially early on, losing everything in a fire can completely derail your progression, so putting the flames out before your structures fall apart is crucial.

Frankly, the best way to deal with fires is simply to not let them happen in the first place! Indeed, putting out fires can be a pain, and you’ll likely lose several structures in doing so. Fortunately, prevention is way easier than you might think. First of all, start by separating your Fire-type Pals from flammable areas, and watch out for any attacking fire-types (and lure them away if you need to). After all, fire type Pals are one of the main ways for fires to break out in the first place.
In addition, think about your base material choices. Wood is fine early on if that’s all you’ve got, but try upgrading to non-flammable materials like stone or metal as soon as you can. Even placing stone flooring beneath fire-prone equipment can act as a buffer to prevent the fire from spreading between structures. And, of course, keep a few Water-type Pals in your base rotation at all times. Just having them around can mean the difference between a small flare-up and a full base meltdown. Assigned correctly, they’ll automatically respond to danger.

Just make sure you’ve taken some time to consider today’s tips to help with planning your base layout and Pal positioning; this simple decision can really pay off in many cases!
