Steam Early Access for Wreckfest 2 will launch on March 20, 2025, to become the next edition of the demolition derby racing game. This latest installment from Bugbear Entertainment, published by THQ Nordic to increase the intensity of vehicular chaos within the series.
Wreckfest 2 uses its updated physics system to provide more realistic damage and collision effects than its original version. Wreckfest 2 provides several track options that combine open circuits with obstacle-filled courses containing jumps while mixing traffic in the same space. At its initial release, the game offers three main modes, Racing, Derby, and Multiplayer, supporting up to 34 players. Subsequent Early Access period updates will bring the new adaptive career mode to the game.
The vehicular customization options in the new installment let players pimp out their rides with new armor and components to fit their specific driving style. The development of Wreckfest 2 will introduce new features, including tournaments, high-score challenges with unconventional vehicles, and mod support. Bugbear Entertainment plans to develop the game according to the feedback they receive in the early access phase of the game.
Wreckfest spent four years in Early Access before its complete launch, leading to the final product's good reception. The Wreckfest 2 development team intends to extend Early Access beyond determination since they plan to update the game with feedback from their community. Though no exact dates have been disclosed, the developers anticipate releasing PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions after the PC release.
