PS5 has received a slight but important update for The Last of Us Part II Remastered. In Patch 2.0.0, many players encountered a bug where certain campaign unlockable became inaccessible. That, in turn, affected extras like character models, concept art, and gameplay modifiers that would usually be unlocked by progressing through the game. Some rewards do not show on the weapon select screen because of the last patch, while Naughty Dog has confirmed that the issue occurred because of how the game manages player progress.
Players will have to load a save file that precedes April 3, 2025, if they want to recover any lost content. If save doesn’t exist, then such unlockable may remain lost, so you need to very attentively watch save for backup and cloud storage. This won’t change the experience of the core game, but for completionists and extras fans, which was a frustrating hiccup that Naughty Dog solved pretty quickly.
While staying positive, The Last of Us Part II Remastered’s recently released PC port has also been praised. This release has gone much more smoothly than the bumpy first game’s PC version launch. Reviewers have praised the game's performance, smooth visuals, and PC-friendly features. Though it suffered from fewer bugs, it had better optimization and support for modern hardware, and it was one of Sony’s better ports in recent memory.
With these quality-of-life updates, the PC version of the game is, if anything, probably the best way to have the experience.
