GSC Game World just added 1,200 plus changes and improvements in the fresh STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl update. The March 2025 update v1.3 adds various enhancements to combat mechanics, quest changes, and performance enhancements for the successful STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl game following its 2024 release.
In this Stalker 2 update, Mutant AI receives performance updates, which improves their motion, and surprise attacks work faster, while NPCs recognize sounds and react naturally to things they hear. Combat balance also receives major changes in this update, where anomaly damage depends on armor types to damage combat suits less, while science suits get enhanced protection and artifacts.
The Weird Flower and Weird Kettle also received new effects in this update. A total of 100 crashes have received fixes in addition to solving game-breaking bugs within main missions, including Visions of Truth and Dawn of a New Day. Apart from combat improvements, STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl gets quality-of-life improvements through enhanced facial movements, updated death screens related to death causes, and improved inventory browsing.
GSC Game World has pushed 12 updates since November 2024 to improve the game experience before their planned DLC content and multiplayer feature releases. The studio invests its resources in the constant development of STALKER 2 to strengthen its position as an elite open-world shooter that receives detailed ongoing support.
The update included over 1,200 fixes across AI, quests, and performance.
The changes primarily concentrate on combat system mechanics and mutant behavioural changes while omitting additional gameplay components.
The development team worked on resolving issues in both Visions of Truth and Dawn of a New Day.
The next update exists as a free addition to the game, though developers have not specified when it will arrive.
