Schedule 1, the viral open-world drug sim by solo developer Tyler’s Video Game Studio, is getting ready for its first major content update.
In a recent announcement, the solo developer mentioned three possible directions of the upcoming update. It will be either Police raids, cartel wars or shrooms. Each of the options would introduce several new gameplay mechanics and challenges. Police raids could enhance law enforcement pressure, cartel wars may present faction-based conflicts, while shrooms may produce psychedelic effects and unique gameplay variations.
Schedule 1 Fans will both get to vote on their winning choice in the in-game poll, thus allowing the community to determine the course of the game. This approach shows developers’ willingness to involve players in the game development process.
Also, a new map expansion has been hinted at for a future update. While specifics are minimal, the extension is anticipated to bring new zones into play to grow the game’s world outside the existing stage of Hyland Point.
Despite the oncoming content update and map expansion, Schedule 1 does not wilt but continues to grow, with new opportunities and tests for players. The interactive philosophy of the developer makes the direction of the game consistent while keeping the interest of the community in check.
