RuneScape: Dragonwilds is already causing a bit of a stir in early access. From a recent player survey, it seems that the game has a plan for the future that includes even more ambitious features. One of the most tempting possibilities is a massive PvPvE map, a combination of player-versus-player action and exploring a map. This mixed approach may redefine the experience of survival, providing dynamic interactions that test both the skill and the strategy.
Undoubtedly, the success of the game has been phenomenal. Within 7 days, Dragonwilds had sold over 600,000 copies and received over 13,000 user reviews, out of which 85% were positive. Players have praised its thumping combat, fun base building, and RPG-esque nature, and it is now being compared to popular survival games like Valheim. Aside from that, RuneScape Dragonwilds was the third most viewed game on Twitch, with average play sessions crossing two hours.
Jagex is aiming at getting the player input through the 2024 Runescape Player Survey to assist them with creating a vision for the future of the game based on community feedback. The survey indicates a taste for such features as customizable servers and multiplayer zones, which might imply an interest in player-oriented development. This method falls into Jagex’s strategy, similar to Project Zanaris, which aims to give players complete control over gameplay changes. Scheduled for a full release for the year 2026, the Dragonwilds is only a couple of years away from becoming much more built for the fervently devoted players’ hands.
