Jagex has shown its planned schedule for RuneScape 3 with key updates until early 2026. Players will get new quests, skill boosts, and fresh content that will basically create the Gielinor's future.
The Return to the Desert questline will go on adding more details to the game's story while also adding fresh challenges. Crafting, as well as Thieving, will see higher maximum levels, offering more choices for character growth. A strong new group combat enemy, Amascut, will come later this year to incentivize coop gameplay.
RuneScape 3 will also bring Leagues, a seasonal mode known for faster progress rates, which was once limited to Old School RuneScape.
One major update is the introduction of Havenhythe, a new zone that will grow slowly throughout the year 2026. Concept sketches show a world with many details, giving room for new quests and more opportunities. According to the reports, Jagex has also begun working on a fresh skill after Necromancy, which did pretty well in 2023. Although little is known about this claim, this skill should make RuneScape 3 gameplay better.
Jagex now listens to player feedback via the "RuneScape Ahead 2025-2026 Roadmap Review." This allows the community to shape upcoming content while RuneScape 3 continues to offer fresh quests for veterans as well as new players.
Havenhythe, a new region, will grow during the year 2026.
Leagues, a quick seasonal mode, makes its start.
Amascut is the new boss for group fights.
RuneCrafting, Crafting, and Thieving will be expanded.
