Roblox ends Windows 7 Support

Roblox has withdrawn support for Windows 7 users since January 16, 2025. Roblox now follows industry security standards to shy away from outdated operating systems because this step promotes better security and performance with more focus on future updates. Windows 7 and 8 users who still prefer older versions of the operating system must move to Windows 10 or newer versions to keep Roblox access active.
Earlier, Microsoft stopped Windows 7 updates in 2022 which allowed many game developers to stop supporting older systems so this move made sense. Roblox maintains its priority to deliver both secure interactions and peak performance to its vast community of 100 million players. The Roblox platform runs on iOS, and Android along with Meta Quest VR and PlayStation thereby reaching a larger user base.
Roblox Studio's game creation tool will deactivate support for Windows 7, 8.1 and macOS 10.13 on March 20, 2025. In addition to players, the Roblox platform developers are also encouraged to upgrade their systems to Win 10 or newer. The update although disrupting for some users, but on the other hand, it enables improved functionality and advanced features for most users and creators.
