The cooperative horror game REPO from Semiwork Studios has revealed its plans for an upcoming content update that will further enhance the REPO coop experience. A developer vlog broadcast by Semiwork unveiled the addition of new monsters that will require players to adapt and find advanced strategies to work around them. The REPO update also has a new challenging mode that provides complex game scenarios to satisfy experienced players who wish to challenge themselves more.
Players can now also earn achievements through an achievement tracking system, which rewards them for completing set objectives. The developers aim to develop additional game content by creating hidden lore that players can uncover during their exploratory gameplay.
The original concept of REPO, which was developed as a solo cleaning experience, has now changed to match the gameplay of Lethal Company and other similar titles. The developers state that any resemblances between their game and other titles stem from random circumstances, even though REPO is a unique creation in its own right.
To provide the best possible gaming experience, the devs extended the early access period which initially stood at six to twelve months. The developers are working on multiplatform releases while developing crossplay features and VR support which shows their commitment to attracting additional players.
The new update brings three main elements to REPO, which include more monsters, challenge content, and achievement tracking.
The game design prompts players to uncover secret story elements through their range of exploration.
The development of REPO as a single-player cleaning game preceded any resemblance to Lethal Company.
Future plans for the game will focus on multiplatform distribution together with crossplay functionality, and VR capabilities might also be added.
