FromSoftware has unveiled a new playable character in Elden Ring: Nightreign, and it is set to release on May 30th, 2025. As a ranged specialist, Ironeye is fitted with a bow and increased mobility. He can Mark enemies to place weak points on them and has a passive skill, Eagle Eye, which increases the enemy drop rate. His ultimate, Single Shot, fires a supersonic arrow capable of piercing all defences.
Ironeye’s playstyle can fit in with the rest of the roster at Nightfarers, which consists of Wylder (all rounder), The Guardian (tank), The Recluse (Mage), and The Duchess (Rogue). Nightreign makes the combat fast-paced and cooperative while paying tribute to his aerial attacks, wall leaping, and overall speed. The game has a three-day cycle with the players surviving and defeating bosses, leading to a final fight against a Nightlord. The game map grows over time by bringing new challenges that forces players to plan their actions ahead.
Nightreign is designed to encourage a lot of replaying; each session provides different experiences due to randomized elements. Having characters like Ironeye implies that developers are aiming for players to have varied playstyles and to work well with their teammates. FromSoftware has previously spoken about making each Ringed City area a condensed RPG experience with the shine that this company and particularly their recent games have.
Ironeye is a ranger of precision and mobility.
Marking enemy weak points also allows him to increase loot drops.
It fires a powerful arrow that penetrates all defences.
The game launches on May 30th, 2025.
