The new public testing update for Minecraft brings forth new animals, plants and environmental effects to the game. Minecraft hosts two newly introduced cow breeds consisting of snow-covered, thick-furred cold cows and red-haired warm cows which inhabit sandy territories. Due to these additions, players will experience better biome diversity while enjoying more natural environments in the game.
Deserts in Minecraft now produce environmental sounds that feature wind-blowing twigs and wind howls along with insect sounds, which brings additional life to these areas. This Minecraft update provides players with Dead bushes that work on various sand-based materials to build realistic desert environments. The update also introduces a new “bush” plant found in forests, plains, and other green biomes, which can be grown using bone meal.
One of the main features of this update offers the firefly bush which grows in swamp locations and surrounds water areas. At night the plant glows bright while its air releases the animated fireflies through its emission. Building a shimmering effect above requires placing the firefly bush under blocks then using bone meal to both collect and propagate the plant.
The newly added Minecraft content update continues from earlier releases of pig variants and falling leaves together with wildflowers. The features are now available in Minecraft: Java Edition's current snapshot, while the Bedrock beta and preview versions will receive them soon before a full release arrives this year.
Java Edition players can enable snapshots in the “Installations” tab. Bedrock players will get access soon.
Cows following temperature patterns find their place of birth either in snowy or sandy biomes.
The firefly bush produces illuminating insects during night-time, and users can plant it with bone meal.
The firefly plant, together with generic bushes, can be cultivated by applying bone meal.
