If you like Lethal Company and want more of the good old-fashioned co-op horror, then you need to play REPO. Coming from Semiwork, this indie title quickly became a hit on Steam, letting players into its fresh but familiar horror gameplay loop.
Up to six players find themselves in haunted environments packed with unusual enemies in REPO, which is actually short for Retrieve, Extract & Profit Operation. The main point of REPO is looting, but the levitation mechanic in the game adds a twist to it. Navigation is hilariously clumsy, as players have to carry objects around without physically touching them. When you drop or damage an object, its value is lowered, creating tension for each job. The thrill is partly due to the physics-driven chaos. From awkwardly pointing a weak vase to getting a massive piano through thin halls, each run presents unexpected moments. Lethal Company developer Zeekerss himself even confessed to the fun in REPO's coordination challenges.
But it’s not all laughs, as each mission is intense thanks to procedurally generated, varied enemy types and levels. Success is earned, and there’s real pressure to do things neatly and get away without a scratch. One of the key things that turn this into a long-term game is that the early access version already has multiple worlds, tools, and character upgrades.
Semiwork is certainly a company that is focused on quality. Exploits have been responded to, stamina tweaks as well as microtransactions have been struck off. Everything else is earned through gameplay, including cosmetics.
We know that there are similar games, but REPO was released as a single-player cleaning game that works independently.
REPO can be played by up to six players.
No, all cosmetics can be earned via gameplay.
REPO was available in early access on February 26, 2025.
