Halo fans, the rumors just won’t quit! According to leaker Rebs Gaming, the long-whispered-about Halo: Combat Evolved remake is now in full production. If true, this means that Halo Studios—formerly 343 Industries—has been quietly bringing Master Chief’s original adventure back to life while we’ve been waiting for official word.
The Halo 1 remake reportedly entered pre-production in January 2024, and now that development is in full swing, Halo Studios has been ramping up hiring efforts. While the studio hasn’t confirmed anything, its move to Unreal Engine 5 and concept art featuring Halo: CE iconography have only fueled the speculation.
But that’s not all! Rebs Gaming also dropped new info on another mystery Halo project—codenamed Ekur, supposedly in development at Certain Affinity. It’s been in the works since 2022 and even has dedicated testing servers created in June 2024. Because of the timeline, Rebs believes Ekur will launch before the Halo 1 ps5 remake.
Of course, until Halo Studios makes it official, all of this remains a rumor. But with multiple projects seemingly in motion, 2025 could be a big year for the Halo franchise. Will we see an announcement soon? Only time will tell. Until then, stay frosty, Spartans!
The 2011 video game HaloCombat Evolved Anniversary stands as a first-person shooter produced jointly by 343 Industries, Saber Interactive, and Certain Affinity for Microsoft Game Studios on the Xbox 360 platform. A new edition of its 2001 launch exists here.
People now expect that Halo 1s remake could launch in 2026 because development seems more advanced than expected.
Halo boasted superior AI, superior visuals, a compelling and cohesive plot (for an FPS at the time), vehicle combat, superior worldbuilding, a wide range of levels, and what would become the standard control scheme.
