Recent rumours have suggested that Kingdom Come: Saudi Arabia is expected to ban Deliverance 2 because it purportedly contains unavoidable LGBTQ+ material. VGA4A Arabic video game site first shared these gaming community claims in a social media update on January 14, 2025. The social media post from VGA4A claimed Saudi Arabia would deny the classification of the game since Warhorse Studios refused to remove their portrayal of two male characters in a relationship.
On January 19, 2025, lead developer Daniel Vávra clarified the rumours by stating the game would be available in all markets based on his knowledge. The lead developer explained that while the game features multiple characters and relationship dynamics, players control their individual choices which means they can enter same-sex pairings if they choose to. Vávra pointed out the existence of gay characters within the original title which remained consistent when players continued with the sequel.
As of now, there has been no official statement from the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation regarding a ban on Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S systems on February 4, 2025. However, gamers can still preorder the title on Steam as the ban has not yet been put into place by Saudi officials.
No official announcement confirms the game ban. Spokesperson from the development team has refuted the claims of a ban while the game remains on the market to Saudi Arabian customers.
VGA4A posted on social media that the game would face a ban over mandatory LGBTQ+ content.
Lead developer Daniel Vávra informed that all players can explore diverse characters and relationships throughout the game. Still, they will be free to pursue same-sex relationships if they choose to do so.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 players can expect the game's launch for PlayStation 5 and Windows systems as well as Xbox Series X/S capabilities starting February 4, 2025.
