Rockstar recently released the enhanced version of GTA 5, and surprisingly, it became the worst-rated GTA game on Steam. Even with its visual and supposed performance enhancements, GTA V Enhanced Edition maintains a "Mixed" rating, as positive reviews only constitute about 51% of the more than 12,000 user reviews on Steam.
This rating stands lower than the one awarded to GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition despite its widespread criticism because of its 73% positive scores. The main reason for half of the negative reviews is due to issues such as account migration errors, performance problems on advanced hardware and the removal of text chat in GTA Online. Players express negative opinions about the re-release as it has minimal improvements with disabling and completely removing some crucial features.
The game managed to surpass 187,000 daily players during launch despite existing complaints. The negative response shows an intensifying issue between Rockstar's game development and its gaming audience. The negative reception of this version indicates how high expectations are built because of the remarkable success of Grand Theft Auto series.
The high level of anticipation for Grand Theft Auto VI emphasizes the need for a refined upgrade instead of repetitive gameplay content in future releases. Due to unresolved player concerns, GTA V Enhanced currently holds the lowest position in the Grand Theft Auto series' Steam user ratings. Rockstar's response to these issues remains uncertain for future development.
It is currently sitting at "Mixed" reviews on Steam.
It’s the lowest rated, even below GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition’s positive rating of 73%.
The first major issues the game faces are migration errors, performance issues and the removal of the text chat.
At one point, the game reached as high as 187,000 players at once statistically.
