Bad news, Fortnite OG fans—Epic Games has announced that OG Ranked Zero Build servers are shutting down. Starting March 4, multiple servers will go offline, and by March 25, only EU and NAC servers will remain. The reason? "Matchmaking health." In other words, not enough players.
For many, this is a tough loss. Fortnite OG launched on January 31, bringing back classic locations, nostalgic weapons like the Zapotron, and a wave of old-school vibes. While the larger Fortnite OG experience was a massive success, peaking at over a million players in hours, the ranked Zero Build version never reached the same level of popularity.
Still, there’s hope. Players outside EU and NAC can switch their server settings to continue playing OG Ranked Zero Build until the end of the season. This workaround lets players finish their grind, though many remain disappointed that the mode is coming to an end.
Despite this shutdown, Fortnite OG isn’t going anywhere. Epic Games has kept fans engaged with short, fast-paced seasons, remixed battle pass skins, and the return of the OG Item Shop. While we say goodbye to OG Ranked Zero Build, the Epic games’ nostalgic revival still has plenty to offer.
For now, fans can enjoy the remaining weeks of OG Ranked Zero Build—because once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.
Epic Games says it's due to "matchmaking health," meaning not enough players were queuing up for matches.
Yes, but only on EU and NAC servers until March 25. You’ll need to switch regions in settings.
No! Only OG Ranked Zero Build is shutting down. Fortnite OG will continue with nostalgic maps, weapons, and shorter seasons.
