Thanks to a new mod by Yui, Dark Souls Remastered can now have seamless co-op, the same modder behind the popular Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3 co-op overhauls.
The mod lifts the original game’s co-op restrictions so players can peacefully adventure through Lordran on multiple accounts. Starting from the tutorial until the final boss, players can now team up and have synchronized progress, and there is no need to resummon after a player's death or the boss's death. Additionally, PvP invasions are optional, and difficulty modifiers will adjust enemy health and damage based on the number of players. It is important to note that it works completely offline and utilizes its own saves; thus, there is literally no chance of getting banned from FromSoftware servers.
With technical challenges like map unloading along with fog gate limitations sticking out to Dark Souls' older architecture, Yui still managed to develop the mod in just a week. The Dark Souls community welcomed it to the point that more than 10,000 people have downloaded it in under 72 hours.
This one represents a major enhancement to the Dark Souls multiplayer experience that should make it easier and more fun to journey through this game with friends.
Co-op playthroughs are uninterrupted without barriers to progress, and PvP is optional.
It works offline and uses separate save files, so there is no risk of bans.
Within 72 hours, over 10,000 downloads were recorded.
Probably the best known for making seamless co-op mods for Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3, and so on.
