Battlefield 6 leaked alpha footage recently went online, revealing what could be a return to the franchise’s roots. The recent leaks show a classic Conquest mode from a recent Battlefield Labs playtest set in an Abbasid dense urban map. The standout feature? Massive, real-time destruction of the environment, like the peak years of the BF series.
The leak also makes it clear that the four-class system of the traditional Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon roles and corresponding loadouts will return as well. Gunplay appears more refined and grounded, rather than the hectic fast recovery pace that Battlefield 2042 is known for. Footage shows jet combat and infantry skirmishes, giving a broader look at how the game works and how big the scale is.
EA’s testing platform for veteran fans, Battlefield Labs, started inviting players on April 17 for these early alpha sessions. Although the participants are under NDA, the clips keep surfacing about removing the polarizing Specialist system and improving the sound design.
The upcoming Battlefield is being co-developed by DICE, Criterion, Motive, and Ripple Effect. Fans are cautiously optimistic that Battlefield 6 might actually see the franchise return to its roots, although it's still in early development.
