When it comes to your game of Avowed, ensuring that you have planned for the many different quests is vital. After all, many quests in Avowed can be quite time consuming, and with so many side quests to consider trying too, there’s plenty to think about. Fortunately, today, we’re looking at the Forged of Star-Stuff quest to help you understand more about the requirements and rewards of the mission and provide a walkthrough of how to complete this unique story in Avowed.
First things first, we need to consider how to trigger the Forged of Star-Stuff quest, not least of all because this side mission is a little different to normal quests. Indeed, while most quests are given to you by NPCs in the game, the Forged of Star-Stuff quest triggers a little differently - and, in fact, it doesn’t rely on an NPC to start at all. Moreover, you can begin the quest in any of the regions of the game - however, you’ll need to be ready to spend some time exploring to find the trigger.
Given that you’ll likely need to explore a lot to find the first Starmetal, ensuring your game is running smoothly is paramount. Luckily, with premium private Avowed server hosting from ScalaCube, you can count on your server to stay stable with 24/7 uptime and full DDoS protection in built for safety.
So, how do you start the quest? Well, you’ll need to find a starmetal fragment, which can spawn in any of the four regions of the game. In fact, each region—Dawnshore, Emerald Stair, Shatterscarp, and Galawain’s Tusks—contains one starmetal. As soon as you find the first fragment, you can technically start the quest.
Once you’ve picked up the starmetal fragment, the Forged of Star-Stuff quest will begin. However, it can be a little trickier to know how to progress after finding the first piece since you don’t have an NPC to give you pointers.
Now, to begin with, you’ll need to head to a blacksmith’s shop and ask them to use the starmetal fragment to craft a special weapon or piece of armor. Don’t get too excited just yet, though. All main blacksmiths in the game will be unable to help with this; however, they’ll point you in the direction of Solace Keep, where Forgemaster Dela may be able to help. Solace Keep is found in Galawain’s Tusks, the final region of the game. Given this, you’ll never be able to progress past the first stage of the mission (collect all four pieces) until you’ve reached the final zone.
Once you find Forgemaster Dela, you’ll be able to show him the Starmetal fragments. He will be able to make you a Meteor Blade and Moonstrike using two Starmetal fragments; if you have the other two, he’ll also be able to boost their superb quality higher.
As we’ve already mentioned, the Starmetal fragments are spread across the Avowed world with one piece per region. Fortunately, while they are very spread out, they do spawn in consisten locations which makes them a little easier to find.
The Starmetal fragment locations are found as follows:
Yes! The Forged of Star-Stuff quest in Avowed is unique in that you can begin it at any point, provided you find the piece of starmetal in your current region of the game. One piece of starmetal can be found in each region.
No. You only need to collect two starmetal fragments in Avowed to craft the relevant armor and sword. However, the extra two Starmetal fragments allow you to upgrade your newly crafted gear, and since you can’t make these until the final region anyway, it’s well worth collecting all four pieces.
The Forged of Star-Stuff quest is one of Avowed’s many different side missions, although it is perhaps unique as you won’t be able to complete the quest in full until you’ve unlocked the final region of the game, irrespective of when you started. Following this thought, keeping today’s tips in mind from our Forged of Star-Stuff walkthrough could help guide your own game of Avowed. In the end, though, despite spanning so much of the game, the Forged of Star-Stuff quest is entirely optional, so there’s no need to complete it if you don’t want to.
