Before purchasing a new game, it’s often helpful to know how much playtime you can actually expect out of the game. This is useful for ensuring you’re getting a game that offers plenty of content; simultaneously, this can also help ensure that your chosen game won’t be over in a matter of an hour or two (let’s face it - is there anything more annoying than that?) Well, in line with this thought, today, we’re looking at how long it takes to beat Avowed, including the expected timeframe for the main game, time for additional side questing, and even the current Avowed speedrun records!
First of all, we need to ask ourselves: what is the expected time needed to beat Avowed in full? Well, the exact definition of “complete in full” can vary depending on who you ask and whether you use guides extensively in your game or not. In line with this thought, we’ve broken down the expected Avowed play time as follows to help you understand what the total playtime of your next Avowed playthrough might look like.
For most people, the idea of “completing the game” relates to finishing the main story. This begs the question: what is the expected total play time to complete Avowed’s main missions in full? Well, this will naturally depend on personal experience and skill with the game (and perhaps a fair degree of luck).
That said, on Normal difficulty, you can generally expect to complete the main quests in full in around twenty five hours. If you’re playing in an easier mode (either Story Time or Easy), this may be a little quicker given that you’ll spend a lot less time taking on foes.
Of course, this is only an estimate for the total time needed to beat the main game of Avowed, and many other factors could influence this. One particularly frustrating factor that could cause your progress through the game to slow down is server lag or even your server crashing. Luckily, when you create an Avowed dedicated server, you can enjoy 24/7 uptime and a lag-free gaming experience that won’t delay your progress through the game.
In addition to the main game, Avowed also offers a wonderful array of different Side Quests and missions. Indeed, side quests, side missions, bounties, and treasure maps can be found within each zone of the game, and these increase the play time significantly for players who want to really immerse themselves in the world. If you decide to take on all of the additional side quests, bounties, and treasure hunts, you’ll likely end up looking at around forty hours of total gameplay. This makes Avowed a relatively long game, especially since there are also several choices you can make throughout the game; thus, you can play the game several times to try each of the different choices.
By now, we’ve briefly clarified that the expected Avowed play time is about twenty-five hours for the main quests and forty hours if you also take on side missions and bounties. But how fast can a single game of Avowed be feasibly completed in?
Well, this is where speed runners come in - and, despite Avowed being an incredibly new game, speed runners have already given the challenge a try. At present, at the time of writing, the record for Avowed speed runs to complete the entire main mission set is 41 minutes and 44 seconds (excluding loading times) according to Speedrun.com. However, it’s likely that new speedrunners will attempt to beat this as they gain confidence with the game in the coming weeks and months.
We should point out here, though, that this current record does rely on bugs and glitches within the game. For speed runs not using glitches, there’s currently only one recorded run on Speedrun.com, and this clocked in at 59 minutes 25 seconds (without loading time). As before, though, there’s a good chance that this may be beaten in the future by other Avowed fans once they get to grips with the game’s features and story and optimize the route.
On average, it’s expected that a full playthrough of the main quest line of Avowed will take about twenty five hours, although twenty hours is also easily achievable.
Yes. If you want to speed run Avowed, it’s technically possible to complete the main quests of the game in just over forty minutes. However, this is an incredibly difficult feat, given that most people will need around twenty five hours minimum to play and enjoy the game to the fullest.
As standard, a single playthrough of Avowed can be expected to take around twenty to twenty-five hours just to complete the main game, and don’t be surprised if you end up playing for another ten to fifteen hours to finish the side quests too. However, one of the nice features of Avowed is that many aspects of the main mission quests can be rushed, meaning that speedruns of just under an hour have already been completed.
