First things first, we should briefly mention who Octav the Firebrand actually is. As an outlaw, Octav the Firebrand is the leader of a notorious gang of bandits. He has long hair with two braids on either side of his mouth and isn’t necessarily an easy to take down foe, despite being a dwarf himself; so, don’t underestimate this bounty when taking it on!

How to Find Octav the Firebrand

As is mentioned on his bounty sheet, Octav the Firebrand can be found to the Northwest of Paradis in the Godless ruins. He and his band of thugs are camped out in a relatively sizable camp, making them pretty easy to spot once you make it through the ruins. Moreover, since he’s relatively close by to Paradis, you can find him relatively early in the game; so, after you’ve set up your game on a premium Avowed server for 24/7 uptime, why not take on the challenge?

How to Beat Octav the Firebrand

Keep in mind that Octav the Firebrand’s group contain a pretty good variety of different enemy types, including bowmen, thugs, sentinels, adepts, and even a highwayman. Given this, you’ll need to be prepared for a range of different attacks while taking on the group. Fortunately, though, they’re not the strongest to take out individually.

No doubt the biggest challenge - unsurprisingly, really - to take on is Octav himself, and his exceptional agility no doubt makes him a noteworthy foe. Indeed, he’ll often rush in incredibly quickly, and with his dual-wielded flaming daggers, he’s actually a pretty tricky foe to dodge. With that being said, though, it’s worth practicing your dodges, as this could make a lot of difference in the outcome of the fight. Stay on your toes - he can clear a large amount of distance in a matter of seconds!

One weakness that you can make use of is that Octav the Firebrand is surprisingly easy to stagger. So, if he does close the gap and you don’t have time to dodge, consider trying to focus on his stagger bar. Staggering him allows you to land those all-important hits and also helps prevent him from using healing potions, so it’s well worth doing as part of your strategy to beat him.

How to Turn in the Bounty for Octav the Firebrand

Once you have successfully killed Octav the Firebrand, it’s time to turn in the bounty mission and receive your rewards! Assuming you have already taken the bounty, all that’s left to do at this point is to head back to Paradis, where Aldrich will ask to see proof of your kill. Assuming you successfully picked this up off of Octav the Firebrand’s body, you should be able to hand it over in order to receive your reward. This is worth a total of 500 Copper Skeyt and 59exp for successfully killing Octav.
