Minecraft
As for all the other ocean swimmers of the Overworld, salmon are arguably somewhat special. July 2018 and the new release of Update Aquatic set in place the reign of this regal fish within the waters of Minecraft. This included the eyes of players but also provided them with a resource that would keep them going sustainably. Here is the full look at the following updates and fixes to salmon within the game.
Salmon Introduction: Among the updates of the Aquatic, cod, and tropical fish, salmon marked a new era in the aquatic life diversity of Minecraft.
Habitats: Salmon live in many different biomes, from the cold ocean and deep cold ocean to the frozen ocean and deep frozen ocean. Remarkably, they also are the only kind of fish found in rivers, reaching to players residing far from the sea.
Group Behavior: Spawning salmons can be seen to swim in groups very similar to the real ones in groups from 1 to 5. In Bedrock Edition, it comes in three sizes: small, medium, and large
Unique features: True to real life, these fish can swim up waterfalls—even showing off this feat of endurance and determination. Players can also scoop them in water buckets as a practical means of collection.
Life Cycle and Drops: Just like real-life salmon, these mobs are not able to survive out of the water and will be dropping raw salmon as well as experience orbs on killing. Moreover, there is a possibility of getting bonemeal from them at the death in the Java edition or a bone in the Bedrock edition.
Real Inspiration: In this very interesting real-life life cycle of salmon, Minecraft has done just that. They are born in rivers, go to the ocean, and then come back to the river they were born in to breed.
Conservation Message: The salmon populations in reality plight reflect back to us the sobering reality of environmental challenges. Historically, the use by humankind of aquatic systems has greatly influenced salmon populations through damming rivers and destruction of habitats, leading to great declines.
Salmon Population in Minecraft: The salmon populations in the game are bright and sustainable, completely different from the real world so that the players can enjoy them without worries of depletion or overfishing.
In other words, rendering salmon, Minecraft becomes not only vivid in the underwater world but also a mild learning tool in the context of environmental stewardship and conservation. A player can engage with the beauty and abundance of salmon in Minecraft games and, at the same time, meditate on the issues their real counterparts are struggling to survive in many parts of the world.
