Rust Weapon Additions
This month's game update introduces two new weapons—handmade SMG and SKS rifle—alongside the master overhaul to wolf AI, Gesture Pack DLC, and a series of quality-of-life updates and bug fixes. Here's a quick rundown of what's new and improved for players this month:
Handmade SMG (Tier 1)
Unlocked near the end of the T1 tech tree, this SMG brings rapid-fire capability.
While not as accurate or high in damage, this makes up for it with its extremely high rate of fire.
Ideal for players who like to get up close with enemies and surprise them with fast bursts of bullets.
SKS Rifle (Tier 3)
Balanced mid-tier rifle unlocked in the early stages of the T3 tech tree.
Good range, accuracy, and moderate stopping power falling between the SAR and M39 makes it a great choice for those wanting a no-nonsense, no-frills-but-good-handling rifle.
The wolf AI has been revamped to make encounters with wolves feel much more dynamic and less predictable.
Wolf AI Overhaul
The wolf AI has been revamped to make encounters with wolves feel much more dynamic and less predictable.
Now, the wolves are much fairer opponents to face and can be done so in a number of ways, rather than an automatic charge every single time.
With the changes in place, wolves will feel far more realistic and much more fun to hunt or attempt to avoid.
Quality of Life Updates and Bug Fixes
Additional quality-of-life tweaks to generally enhance the gameplay experience.
A number of bug fixes, mostly oriented toward game stability and performance.
With new tools at your command, smarter AI to keep you company, and a generally smoother overall experience, this is an awesome time to jump back in and test your mettle!
