The Dawn of the Hunt update for Path of Exile 2 has been criticized by players for being a slow slog that makes combat punishing. Grinding Gear Games is changing several things in response to smooth out the experience without taking away the challenge from the game.
The one big tweak is the reversal of minion nerfs. The new endgame scaling will stay, but their damage and health are being restored closer to pre-update levels. The combat speed is also addressed by a direct reduction of monster health by 25%.
After user feedback indicated that the sprawling areas lead to slowdowns in gameplay, the studio is testing the size of its in-game environments. No ultimate decision has been made, but adjustments could come. The rework is also hitting The Huntress class. Players pointed out that its power was too dependent on parrying, so a new skill is being added that can generate Frenzy charges without it. The spear throw will also gain a buff to promote switching back and forth between melee and ranged combat. It will make parrying itself more responsive.
This update has unfortunately increased crash rates, but the devs say that they are easier to track down and fixes are coming. If all goes well, quality-of-life improvements such as stash tab upgrades and map bookmarks are also planned.
Swedish players claimed that the game was too slow and too difficult.
Some new buffs and skills are being added for that purpose.
Crashes are being debugged and fixed.
There is a 65% chance it will be released this year.
