Hideo Kojima, the visionary game designer, is back at it again with another Death Stranding 2 trailer, and this time, it’s almost certain—a new trailer is on the horizon.
Kojima recently took to Twitter, sharing a behind-the-scenes photo of himself deep in work mode, using an Astro Bot PlayStation 5 controller while editing something that looks suspiciously like a new trailer. His caption? "Trailer editing and game building." That’s all it took for the Death Stranding 2 fanbase to go into full hype mode.
It makes sense, too. The game, officially titled Death Stranding 2 release date is set for 2025 and recent developments suggest we’re getting closer to a confirmed launch date. Recently, the game received a rating from Brazil, meaning its likely nearing completion, and many speculate that Kojima will share more information during his SXSW panel on March 9 after Sony’s February State of Play leaving it out.
Death Stranding 2 starring Norman Reedus as Sam is set to release with supporting roles by Elle Fanning and Léa Seydoux. Kojima already showed some pieces of a long version of a scene with Sam and Fragile, which has sparked rumors about a full trailer coming out soon.
With Kojima’s history of cryptic marketing, fans are bracing for something big. The only question is: How weird is this next trailer going to be?
Death Stranding 2 is set to release for the PlayStation 5 in 2025, thus Kojima Productions must be nearing the end of the production process at this point.
Sam's aging could be due to his status as a repatriate. Sam's existence in the universe of Death Stranding, like Snake's in Metal Gear, is unnatural.
Major Death Stranding characters, such as Sam, Fragile, and Higgs, return in Death Stranding 2.
