Minecraft has been ahead of the game since it came out, and many may think there is nothing the devs can do for the game to change or improve it without the changes upsetting some people. But they have managed to find an existing feature that they can improve! Although this change is not as big as some before, like adding Minecraft skins, this has grabbed the attention of avid players, more so avid farmers.
This update is all about the leashes, and how they can be used, and no, you cannot tie your friends to mobs! While this could be fun, allowing complete freedom with this new update would cause carnage, and the devs know this. With the new update, leads can be tied to several mobs, tied together, and tied to the boat. So, much more freedom to utilise leashes in Minecraft now, as you can cut the leads with shears as well, meaning you can unattach one specific mob at a time. It’s amazing to see a game as old as Minecraft, updates still being pushed through to improve game quality in every way, without having to download Minecraft mods to do this.
There have been some functions included, pairing with the crouch button, for example, if a player presses the crouch button while untying the knot, the leash will be attached to the player. With the addition of tying mobs together, you can tie a group of unwanted mobs together, then tie them to an animal and lead the animal back to base in any desired way.
Yes, there have just been some added functions like tying mobs together
Figuring out how to make a leash in Minecraft can be difficult if you don't know how. You will need 4 pieces of string and a slime ball.
The changes are coming into effect and have been brought into the snapshot on the 15th April 2025
