Id Software announced the next DOOM last summer. Well, guess what? It's set to release this year. DOOM: The Dark Ages is set to be released on May 15th, 2025. The news was disclosed on Xbox's most recent Developer Direct Livestream, emphasizing what the preview will look like. The developers confirmed that major changes were made to the emphasis of the story, and it features a much bigger world.
As we all know, DOOM is a game set in medieval times and describes a player being immersed in a creepy mysterious world where they must find a purpose to their existence while surviving against all odds.
That said, the melee combat will consist of a much more interactive scene, enemies, and upgraded weapons. Since the number of battles seemed to have added up, players will get access to modern melee weapons such as the iron frail and spiked mace. A mount that looks like a cybernetic dragon will be provided. The game will also provide a skyscraper-sized mech suit so that doomslayers can fight off enemies the size of Kaiju. The countdown to May 15th has long begun. The Dark Ages will be available on PC, Xbox, and PS5.
Kaiju is one of the most popular and destructive enemies in DOOM.
Players can now gain access to a more customizable accessibility section. This allows for controlling things like the game speed or parry timing.
Id Software is the chief franchise behind DOOM: The Dark Ages.
Yes, there are quite a few cutscenes in the Dark Ages release set to debut on May 15th.
