Fans waiting for the Titanfall 3 announcement might want to tap the brakes. Although there have been several rumors of late, credible sources indicate that there isn’t a genuine new series title in the works.

Jeff Grubb from Giant Bomb confirmed that while Respawn does have a small team working on Titan ideas, it isn’t even close to a finished project. Whatever this “skunkworks” group is building won’t be ready for years, if at all, and may even be scrapped before it ever sees the light of day. There are absolutely no claims suggesting Titanfall 3 to be "almost complete." Regardless, the 2025 reveal or 2026 launch is not a thing, and fans shouldn’t expect to see anything soon. Meanwhile, Respawn continues to work on other important projects, such as new Star Wars projects and maintaining Apex Legends, which is part of the same Titanfall universe.

Led by veteran developer Steve Fukuda, Respawn has been daringly experimenting internally with their idea, but they haven't said whether they're making something for the Titanfall series. Also, past efforts, like the canceled "Titanfall Legends," show how quickly EA and Respawn can change direction on a project. For now, the Titanfall franchise continues to be loved by fans while they live in a limbo state, behind the focus on bigger commercial priorities. It’s true that Respawn’s heart still lays down in Titanfall’s world, but the reality is certain that nothing official is coming down the pipe for a good while.
