For the first time in Diablo history, Diablo 4 made its way to introduce non-combat pets in its in-game shop. The game store now offers two bundles consisting of Pale Perry and Quillgem Scamp at an individual price point of $25. The Pale Perry bundle contains an axe-wielding goat Prestige Pet together with the Perry Horn Mount Trophy, and The Golden Goat Emblem.
The Quillgem Scamp bundle contains a Quill Rat Prestige Pet that is partially crystallized, a Quillgem Star Mount Trophy and a Screeching Scam Emblem. Additional features in the game allow players to obtain new companion characters along with cosmetic design options.
Multiple players like the new pets yet different players remain doubtful about paying $25 for them. Those who have chosen not to spend money can obtain Dorian the Raven as their free non-combat pet during Diablo 4 Season 7.
For the first time in its history, Blizzard offers cosmetics and pets through the Diablo 4 shop following their tradition of adding such elements in World of Warcraft games. Players in all Diablo games used to get non-combat pets by in-game drops or participating in events and taking advantage of special promotional offers. Blizzard continues to develop their effort to offer customization choices through their new purchasable pet offerings.
Each bundle costs $25.
During Season 7 of the game players can obtain the Dorian the Raven pet as a reward.
Player responses toward the pet bundles range from positive to negative with users split between approval of the pets and disapproval of the cost.
These virtual pets serve only as decorative objects in the game because they lack any effect on gameplay mechanics.
