Once again, Hideo Kojima is busy making updates, and his ardent followers are breathless and excited. This time, the genius behind Death Stranding 2: On the Beach shared that actress Shioli Kutsuna has completed her part in the highly awaited sequel. While the release date is still vague and set somewhere in 2025, this is a good sign that the game is coming along nicely.
Kutsuna, who has a recognizable face for having played Yukio in Deadpool 2, has been attached to Death Stranding 2 for a time now. As per Kojima, her engagement included elaborate 3D scanning, performance capture in Los Angeles, and English ADR and Japanese voice recording in several other places. To commemorate the day, Kojima also expressed his appreciation when he gifted her a bouquet. Given how much effort went into her role, fans wonder what her character, Rainy, will be like and how she will fit into the newest adventure of Sam Porter Bridges.
Death Stranding 2 sets its backdrop after the events of the first game and features Sam and Fragile as they work to reconnect the shattered world. They are joined by a new character, played by Elle Fanning and named Tomorrow. Bringing even more interest, filmmaker George Miller will be providing his likeness for the game while Fatih Akin will portray the face of Sam’s puppet sidekick turned companion.
Key actors have almost finished working, which means it's a countdown until we have full details on Death Stranding 2: On the Beach’s reveal. For now, fans will just need to sit back and stay alert for the next huge Kojima announcement.
The game is set to launch sometime in 2025, but no exact date has been confirmed yet.
