Bungie's upcoming shooter, Marathon, has been brought to the attention of players who like the
popular extraction-style shooters. Marathon has a similar concept to games similar to Escape
from Tarkov, but Marathon has a much friendlier animation style with a space cartoon-like feel.
Originally, the developers removed the NDA that was originally in place on the game's closed
alpha.
This comes from a worrying number of uneasy fans eagerly waiting to judge what the game is like themselves. Some of the community don't like the extraction style that the game has followed, but many love the intensity of each game when playing this style of shooter. Removing the NDA from the alpha is an interesting move from the team, but it comes from nerves piling up from the team after facing mixed overall reviews originally.
Following other popular titles on the Bungie store, the game will not be free-to-play, and some extraction-based shooters are free on the market, so fans are uneasy about spending on a game that looks promising, but they haven't tried. Lots of the most recent play test reviews from the Marathon game express a captivating experience, with intense fights and rewarding moments. The upcoming months will decide the future of the new shooter.
The title is set to be released in September 2025.
