It’s official—Black Myth: Wukong is a massive hit! The game has sold around five million copies on Black Myth Wukong ps5 alone, proving that players can’t get enough of this action-packed journey through Chinese mythology.
Developed by Game Science, the Soulslike epic first dropped in August 2024 and has since taken the gaming world by storm. Half a year later, the momentum hasn’t slowed down, with the game surpassing 25 million copies sold globally. While 20 million of those flew off the shelves in the first month, Black Myth: Wukong is still going strong, cementing its place as one of the most-played single-player titles ever. PS5 Sales and Global Impact
According to Game Science co-founder Yang Qi, international sales make up 30% of total copies sold, roughly 7.5 million units. Meanwhile, PlayStation 5 players alone account for a staggering five million copies, proving just how well the game has performed on Sony’s console. Beyond sales, Black Myth: Wukong is also racking up awards, winning Game of the Year at the Steam Awards and Golden Joystick Awards while earning multiple nominations for the upcoming Game Developers Choice Awards.
Looking ahead, Game Science is prepping a DLC expansion and an Xbox port, though both still lack release dates. For now, fans can celebrate the game’s continued success—and maybe start saving up for that jaw-dropping $5,000 Wukong statue!
