The future of Battlefield is having data miners dig into it as much as possible, and it appears at least one feature will come back when the game releases. The Battlefield Premium is making a comeback, but not in the way fans are used to.
Based on data received from recent files, Battlefield Premium’s new name will be Battlefield Pro. Unlike the old model, which involved a one-time payment, Battlefield Pro seems to be a recurring subscription. Although full details are left under wraps, data mining reveals some of the advantages players can get. Among them, hosting servers allows the players to have much more control over the way of playing the game. Other rumoured perks are yet to be confirmed, but details about server hosting have not been released yet.
Battlefield Premium was first developed around the Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 era when it offered a solid package of DLCs, exclusive events, and content at a one-time price. EA would naturally want to bring it back in a new form as it was a major part of the series at the time. The shift to a subscription model, however, could have some blowback, especially from players who love to own stuff outright. Since Battlefield Pro has not officially been announced by EA, all of this data mining news is still unofficial. If the data miners are true, though, players will be prepared for a slightly different Battlefield economy with the next entry.
A subscription service for the next Battlefield is rumored.
Server hosting and other benefits.
That was not official, but data miners found strong evidence.
It’s unlikely that this will charge you a one-time fee, as there are recurring fees.
