After months of eagerly waiting for Patch 8 in Baldur’s Gate 3, which is said to be the final big update for the game, it is finally here. Larian, the game's devs, are reportedly moving on to new projects. The game has been ever-changing with updates from the devs for almost two years now. So it’s definitely time for them to bring new games to the horizon. One of the most notable features is crossplay, allowing players across all platforms to play together, enabling more friends to play together.
In addition to crossplay, there have been 12 new Baldur’s Gate 3 classes added, adding to the game’s longevity among fans. After the wait, the team managed to bring the likes of split-screen for Baldur’s Gate Xbox and trading cards for PC players on Steam. A real win for the community, and a solid effort for a farewell update for the game. Fans have taken the update well, with gameplay fixes, new content, and even new features like Photo Mode, which round off the game nicely.
The update across fixes that you can see, and behind the scenes, were huge, and now that it has been released, you can see why it took so much time to prepare. Now, what's next for Larian is still completely up in the air, but there will be eager eyes to see what follows.
