How to Get Heavy Core in Minecraft
The latest Minecraft update 1.21 has introduced a mysterious, ultra-rare block known as the Minecraft heavy core. But unlike most blocks which you can easily mine or craft, the Minecraft heavy core is only found in certain locations—and it’s not exactly an easy item to get your hands on. Still, the hunt is worth it because once you score a Heavy Core, you’re one step closer to crafting the game’s coolest new weapon: the Mace!
Are you ready for the treasure hunt? Use these tips to find the Minecraft heavy core and turn it into one of the most powerful weapons in the game.
Locate the Trial Chamber
First things first, Heavy Core is not craftable, and it only spawns in Minecraft 1.21. Thus, you need to make sure you’re playing with this version. The key to finding Heavy Core lies in a new structure called the Trial Chamber. These are special dungeons packed with loot, monsters, and—you guessed it—Vaults where Heavy Core can be found.
Get Your Hands on a Trial Key
The Trial Key is essential to accessing the Vaults that might contain the Heavy Core. Here’s how to get one:
Look for Trial Spawners –Inside the Trial Chambers, you’ll find something called Trial Spawners. When you take down the mobs guarding these spawners, there’s a 50% chance of receiving a Trial Key. But if you don’t get it on your first try, don’t lose hope because Trial Chambers usually have multiple Trial Spawners which gives you more chances of getting the key.
Open the Vault – Finally after getting the Trial Key in your inventory, you can unlock one of the Vaults. Be strategic—team up with friends to increase your chances, but remember, you may all need to move on to the next Vault if you don’t get the Heavy Core on the first go.
Bonus Tip: Vaults can be opened by multiple players, but they’re single-use only. This means once a Vault is opened, the loot is given, and that Vault can’t be accessed again
The Hunt for Heavy Core
Now comes the real challenge—getting Heavy Core to actually drop. The odds are low, sitting at around 2.2%, so it might take several Vaults before you strike gold. Don’t get discouraged; while you might not get the Heavy Core immediately, each Vault you open has useful loot that’ll help you gear up for the next Trial Chamber.
And remember, every adventure through the Trial Chambers is loaded with other rewards. Even if you don’t find the Heavy Core right away, you’ll still collect valuable resources, armor, and maybe even some rare enchantments to make future raids easier.

FAQs
A Heavy Core is a new item in Minecraft, added in the 1.21 - Tricky Trials Update. It is an item that cannot be made with a crafting table or furnace. Instead, you must find and collect this item in the game.
You need to gather two components. First, defeat a wind to earn a breeze rod, as all maces require a handle. Then, for the main attraction (the mace head), you'll need a solid core. These can be found inside vaults that are unlocked with an ominous trial key - more on that later.
Ominous vaults can only be utilized once per person, making heavy cores rare and difficult to get. If you complete a trial chamber and do not find a heavy core, you are out of luck and must find another chamber.
