Fortuna is the third main quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (KCD2). This KCD2 quest is a tutorial, introducing players to essential game mechanics such as healing, alchemy, and combat. The quest begins with you and Sir Hans Capon escaping through the woods after a skirmish with KCD2 bandits. It concerns your survival and caring for Han and the lady who helped you. If you're struggling with how to get this KCD2 quest done, this guide will help things go a little more smoothly for you.
Fortuna Quest Objectives
The Fortuna Quest follows a series of objectives that must be followed correctly. Knowing all its objectives makes completing the task easy, so we have drafted out all the primary objectives below:
The fortune quest begins when Sir Hans is carrying you through the woods. After a few minutes, you will reach a hut, which is followed by a series of cutscenes. After some moments, you wake up in a healer's hut owned by Bozhene. You will notice you lost most of your skill points and will have to regain them as you progress in the game.
You will also notice that Hans is also recovering after taking a beating from KCD2 bandits who attacked the hut. Upon recovery, Bozhena gives you several objectives: stop bleeding, clean yourself, and eat. Applying fresh bandages is the first step to stopping your wounds from bleeding. You will discover that the bandages are already in your inventory, so you only need to equip them. To equip the bandage, follow these few steps:
Use the slider to equip at least four bandages to cover all wounded parts and stop the bleeding. Next, it's time to get fed and clean yourself up properly. You will notice a pot on the table in front of you. Move closer to it and press E to interact with it. Once you've eaten enough, head outside. You will find a circular wash trough on the left by the door to clean away the dirt and grime from your adventures and injuries. Once you are done cleaning up, head back inside and chat with Bozhena. There, you will learn about Han's condition and how to help. You will need to search for necessary herbs (Chamomile and Sage) to prepare healing potions for Han to get better.
To find chamomile and sage, head to the meadow by turning left when exiting Bozhena's hut and following the path behind the hut. Once you arrive at your destination and find the chamomile, use the E button to gather the chamomile. You can spot the chamomile by its white petals and yellow centre and the purple-coloured sage, which is nearby. Look around until you spot the scroll markers that label the herbs in KCD2, making them easier to find and identify.
Head back to Bozhene’s hut once you've grabbed plenty of camomile and sage. As you approach the hut, you will hear some unfriendly voices that sound like KCD2 bandits. They were friends of the pursuer earlier, and they are not happy with the death of their friends. You may try to reason with them, but they'll attack you outright if you don't bury the body already. It is essential to arm yourself before revealing yourself. You will find a work axe to the right of the back entrance.
Equip yourself and use the tutorial you learnt from Han earlier to take them down. Try as much as you can to block before a follow-up attack to avoid taking much damage. Once all attackers are dead, speak to Bozhena, who will teach you all the basics of alchemy in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You can also learn how to make the chamomile decoction recipe for Han using the KCD2 herbs you just gathered.
Head inside the outbuilding, and there you will find a book beside the alchemy bench. This book contains the steps to follow to prepare the KCD2 herbs you picked. This will automatically kick-start the process of brewing the potion. Below is a summarized instruction on how to brew the potion using the KCD2 herbs:
This is an optional task, as you won't get anything as a reward from Bozhene other than his appreciation. It is also important to note that completing this task will enable you to familiarize yourself with the game's grave-digging tools and mechanics. Before you bury the corpse, loot the bodies for any valuable items. Grab the spade that propped up near Bozhena's herb garden just in front of her hut.
You can only use the spade in certain dig spots, as indicated by a text notification on the bottom right of the screen that says 'Start Digging.' Move to a suitable location where you would like the grave to be and press the E button to trigger a short cut scene of you digging a grave with the spade. Finding a suitable spot and digging the grave first before carrying the bodies is better. It saves you the stress of moving around with corpses. You can find around three grave spots by the narrow stream in front of the hut.
It's also helpful to place a map marker so you know where to carry the bodies if you forget, but graves are also marked on the map with the letter 'G' when close enough. Once you have brought the body close to the grave, hold the E button to bury it. After burying the bodies, clean yourself up again using the trough and head inside Bozhena's hut. You can also tell Bozhena you dealt with the bodies if you completed this part of the Fortuna Quest.
From here, you can go to bed and have a good long rest. When you wake up the next day, finish any conversation with the rest of the group and Pavlena while having breakfast. Once you are done, head inside to Han and finish a brief conversation with him. This will automatically complete the Fortuna quest, triggering a cutscene of you and Hans venturing to Troskowitz, your next destination, where the central part of the game begins.
Scalacube provides the best servers for your escapades in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Its tech support personnel can help you with any gaming server issues and is available 24/7. On ScalaCube gaming servers, latency won't be noticed. It makes the most of the capabilities of its platform so you can concentrate on having fun while playing. Subdomains are charged for by other providers; however, ScalaCube provides them for free. Give them your name, something simple, to discover you instead of your complex IP address.
Open your inventory and equip at least four bandages to stop the bleeding. Select the bandages and apply them to your wounds until the bleeding stops.
Exit Bozhena’s hut, turn left, and follow the path to the nearby meadow. Chamomile has white petals with a yellow centre, while Sage is purple-coloured. Gather enough before returning.
Use the alchemy bench inside Bozhena’s hut. Pour wine into the cauldron, boil it, add two handfuls of chamomile, then one ground handful of sage. Finally, transfer the potion into a phial.
While you only need one chamomile and sage, it's best to harvest as much as possible. These herbs are beneficial and may come in handy later. You can also harvest other herbs, such as Valerian, so keep a watchful eye for other valuable herbs in KCD2 that are in the area.
You'll have to return the Work Axe and Spade to Bozhena before leaving for Troskowitz, which are automatically removed from your inventory when completing the Fortuna Quest. However, you'll also get the Weak Saviour Schnapps potion, providing another way to save your progress besides sleeping in a bed or exiting the game.
