Respect in Enshrouded: An Easy Business
The beauty of the respec system in Enshrouded lies in its simplicity. There's no need for you to scour hidden corners or complete obscure quests on the map. Respecting can be done within your very own base, making use of the ever-reliable Flame Altar.
Below is a step-by-step on how to respec in Enshrouded:
- Flame Altar Interaction: Here will be your base's heart, your safe haven among the encroaching Shroud. It will be used as a central location to make many different things. It is quite likely you have one already built, as they are needed for part of the initial quests.
- How to Respec: Visit the Flame Altar, and click to interact. A menu pops up with an option in it called "Reset Skill Points."
- Confirm and Respec: Clicking on "Reset Skill Points" will prompt you with a confirmation dialogue. Confirming the reset will give the respective points back to you, to be resorted across the skill tree at your leisure.
- Respeccing Costs: The first time you respec in Enshrouded is free of charge. Afterwards, Runes are spent on each subsequent respeccing.
- Runes Gathering to Respec: Runes are a very valuable currency in Enshrouded, used not only to respect but also to craft powerful items and enhance your gear. There are two ways of gaining Runes:
- Enemy Defeat Most enemies in Enshrouded have a chance to drop Runes when defeated. The higher-tier and boss-tier enemies tend to drop higher quantities.
- Explore and Discover: Look for hidden caches and treasure chests spread across the world, generally filled with Runes and other valuable resources.
Earning runes: Most of the major quests from settlement- or faction-based providers will reward the player with a significant number of runes upon quest completion.
And through exploration, defeating your enemies, and completing tasks, you can slowly build your Rune storage so that you have the means to re-spec at a later stage.
Enshrouded Skill Point Cap: So far, there is no current discovery regarding how to cap the number of skill points a player can acquire in Enshrouded. In the game, leveling will continue to provide more and more skill points for investment toward the creation of various builds and specializations.

How much does the first respec cost?
The first full respect in Enshrouded is free of charge, so you can test your skill allocation as much as you like without getting punished.
Where can I find Runes for respeccing?
Runes can be acquired by defeating enemies, searching the world to find well-hidden caches, or completing numerous quests around the world.
Are there limits to the number of respecs I can do?
No, there is no restriction on the number of times a player can respec in Enshrouded. However, subsequent respecs will cost Runes, so one has to gather enough before respeccing.
Can I remove the Flame Altar after I'm done respec-ing?
Yes, you will be able to deconstruct the Flame Altar after you use it to respec, but it will destroy your base and put you at the mercy of the Shroud. It is recommended to delete the Flame Altar if and only if you wish to move your base.
