This guide will show you the location and killing of Ghorm the Devourer, an incredibly strong boss roaming along the edges of the Dirt Biome in Core Keeper.
Locating Ghorm the Devourer
Ghorm the Devourer moves clockwise without stopping around the edge of the Dirt Biome. It takes about four minutes for one circulation of a map. The easiest way to encounter Ghorm is simply camping in his path and just listening for his approach. As soon as it's in range, begin your attack.

How to Unlock Ghorm the Devourer
Ghorm is unlocked by default in a new game, so there’s no need for any special requirements. Simply find it and prepare for battle.
Preparing for the Fight
Defeat Ghorm with the best armour and weaponry you can fashion, and if going ranged, then at least make two Slingshots. Ideally, it's best to have prepped at least 10 Hearty Pepper Wraps—it's Heart Berries and Bomb Peppers combining forces—to gain a vital speed boost. If planning an explosives or trap strategy, prepare accordingly.
Ghorm patrols along the outside edges of the Dirt Biome in a clockwise circle. Just wait along his path and attune your ears to the sound of his approach if you wish to find him.
Interestingly, it might be easier to defeat the third boss, the Hive Mother, before facing Ghorm. The Hive Mother drops the Grub Egg Necklace, which, when paired with the Larva Ring (found in The Clay Caves biome), provides a set bonus that prevents slime from slowing you down.
Preparing the Arena
There's little you can do to prepare for this arena, for the most part, because Ghorm is going to burn down everything in its tunnel. You might want to set some torches outside of the tunnel to help with the blind spot. Don't clear out the slime; Ghorm will just leave more behind him anyway. If you find that having to run on slime impacts your speed, you may want to expand the tunnel to allow yourself some space to strafe outside the trail of slime.
How to Stop Ghorm
Ghorm will stop when he is at around 50% health. He will start attacking you by charging you. The strategy in stopping Ghorm is always to deal maximum possible damage really fast or by keeping yourself close enough so that you can survive his movement through the tunnel.
Strategies for Defeating Ghorm
Ranged Combat: A Slingshot works quite well in conjunction with some speed gear, like Hearty Pepper Wraps, to keep up with Ghorm. Stay behind and just keep firing until its health is low enough so it will stop running. When it does, it'll charge you. Dodge the charges and strike as it goes by until it's defeated.
Melee Combat: If you like to fight from close range, make sure you are with a speed boost. You might want to widen the tunnel as well. Melee attacks are viable as long as you're able to keep your speed and stay in the face of Ghorm.
Explosives: The next method involves the use of explosives. Just create 25-30 Bombs and set them in Ghorm's way as you run ahead of him. This can do pretty good damage, but it is resource-intensive.
Traps: You can set spike traps to cause damage to Ghorm. This is not as effective. Since traps get destroyed whenever Ghorm walks over them, explosives are way better for this purpose.
Resummoning Ghorm
After beating Ghorm, you can re-summon it with a Ghorm Summoning Idol from the Backpack Merchant for 500 Ancient Coins. Place the idol on Ghorm's summoning rune, which is outside of the circular path that gets patrolled. You may need to explore the tunnel to find the split where the summoning rune is located.
