Have you stumbled across the Pyromancer’s Chest and been struck with a burning question: how can I get into it? Well, you’ll need the Pyromancer’s Key to gain access to the Pyromancer’s Chest in Avowed, and this isn’t necessarily the easiest item to stumble across. In line with this thought, today, we’re looking at how you can find the Pyromancer’s Key in Avowed and what this will unlock for your own game.
The Pyromancer’s Key in Avowed is a unique key that is used to unlock a single look box: the Pyromancer’s Chest. The key itself is important for unlocking this valuable chest, which contains a range of different items that can potentially be very useful and worth keeping for your game.
Now that you know what the Pyromancer’s Key is, it’s time to look at where you can find the Pyromancer’s Key in the game. This is a little off the beaten track, so you’ll need to be prepared to do some adventuring to find it. Nevertheless, the rewards at the end are well worth it.
First, travel to Dehengen’s cottage and cross the Eastern bridge. Fortunately, you can fast travel to this location if you’ve already found it to help speed things up; similarly, if the thought of ages spent exploring on a lagging game leaves you feeling frustrated, make sure you’ve started your game with private Avowed hosting to make sure lag doesn’t hold you up!
On the following island, you’ll then want to take the Northern bridge, bringing you closer to Berath’s Gateway. However, don’t enter just yet; instead, look out for a wooden bridge nearby. After jumping across this bridge, you’ll then want to scale the nearby slope and then immediately turn right. Looking around this area, you should then find the remains of the Crazed Pyromancer.
Once you’ve found the Pyromancer’s remains, look around his skeleton to find the Pyromancer’s Key, which should be lying close by. In addition, you can also find a grimoire in this area, which is well worth grabbing for wizard characters.
With the Pyromancer’s Key in hand, it’s now time to continue your journey by heading back to the Pyromancer’s Chest to use it. This isn’t necessarily the easiest thing to find as it’s relatively well hidden within Berath’s Gateway, so be ready for a short adventure first.
To start with, head back to Berath’s Gateway and head to the North East until you begin approaching the Old Pargrun Wall. Just before you reach it, you should find a camp nearby, which is home to the Pyromancer’s Chest itself.
Entering the camp, begin exploring near to the camp tents; you will find the Chest located just to the side of one of these. All that’s then left to do is use the key you just picked up to open the Pyromancer’s Chest and unlock the loot inside!
While some of the early game chests contain a pretty generic pool of items, the Pyromancer’s Chest is different in that it can potentially spawn different items for different players. As such, there’s no way to say exactly what you’ll get from the chest. With that being said, there are plenty of good resources to be found inside this mysterious chest, including the following.
Perhaps the most appealing loot you can find in the Pyromancer’s Chest - and unsurprisingly for a wizard’s chest - are his grimoires. Indeed, there are two main grimoires that you’re likely to find within this chest: the Grimoire of Elements and the Grimoire of Embers. These two grimoires can teach a range of incredibly useful abilities, making them a useful bit of loot for any wizard character.
The main abilities that each grimoire can teach include Fan of Flames, Fireball, Arcane Veil, Jolting Touch, Chill Blades, Ring of Fire, and Meteor Shower, depending on the grimoire you pick up. If you get lucky, you could even get both of these grimoires, giving your character a greatly enhanced repertoire of potential abilities in turn.
Grenades are a classic type of loot that can come in exceptionally handy, especially for melee characters for whom ranged attacks are much more limited. Grenades can be thrown to deal a large amount of damage to a single or group of foes at once, so be sure to grab these on your way through.
Money is one of the major limiting factors for many players in Avowed, especially in the relatively early game. Given this, it’s a welcome reward to find coins or silver in the Pyromancer’s chest, the latter of which can be sold for currency if needed.
If grimoires, grenades, and money weren’t enough on their own, there’s often also another type of loot found within the Pyromancer’s chest: upgrade materials. These include amethyst gems, pelts, and iron chunks, all of which are vital for crafting powerful weapons and armor.
The Pyromancer’s Chest in Avowed can contain a selection of different loot items, commonly including grimoires, upgrade materials, grenades, and currency, all of which are excellent items to keep on hand.
Finding the equipment you need to complete your adventure in Avowed may not always be easy, but this shouldn’t have to be impossible - and luckily, the Pyromancer’s Key is one such item that’s very useful to get hold of. Following this thought, today’s guide has outlined some of the core things you’ll need to know about the Pyromancer’s Key and Chest.
