Minecraft 1.12.2 is primarily a bug fix and status update, which improves a lot of the issues that were going wrong with the original version. This is a definite patch on 1.12.1, which was where the bulk of the big updates came into play.
For example, if you stand inside a portal, and open the chest, the chest will be rendered open until another chest is open. The music will play far away from the player and is not audible, if you are stuck on farmland while it changes to dirt, this does not happen anymore, parrots do not resplendent , this issue was fixed, and there were a bunch of other small issues that helped to create a more fluid gameplay experience.
At the end of the day, this was not designed to be a big update, nor a particularly impressive one. It didn’t have anything game changing for Minecraft itself, but instead helped to fix a lot of the common issues that have been plaguing players for a long time.
But, when all is said and done, that does not necessarily have to be a big update in order to be an impactful one. This helped correct some of the really annoying problems that were cropping up on a regular basis, which meant the players could have a much more fluid and enjoyable experience from the beginning. Getting randomly stuck, while not a pleasant experience for anybody, at the same time was quite common.
Ultimately, these were just a series of small changes that you would notice if you were someone who was exploring Minecraft regularly. If you took the time to account all of the different options and mechanics available, you would start to see that things have changed. The way that people are going to implement different modifications and updates into the system meant that the game was constantly evolving and growing, and these small glitches that were really quite insignificant in the grand scheme of things did nothing but distract players from the game.
However, quite a few different common issues were fixed during the 1.12.2 update, and made the game very playable again. A lot of the small issues that were really affecting gameplay were taken away, so players were free to concentrate on the main enjoyment factor.
Ultimately, the 1.12.2 update was one which was welcomed, and actually became one of the more common versions of the game that people would run modification packs for. Because it was easy to work with, and very stable, it was a prime version to create modification packs, updates, and gameplay changes. This was definitely one of the more well received updates, not least for because it corrected several ongoing issues that players were encountering.
Even to this day, there are still a lot of modification packs that use this update, because it really is quite successful and easy to work with.
