Project Sky is an interesting mod pack because unlike a lot of conventional options, the emphasis is well and truly on freedom over any other type of exploration or gameplay.
A lot of modpacks have a goal or a purpose nowadays. Some even have a narrative built into them which you experiment with and explore at your discretion. There’s often a plot and a story, with stakes and characters and development. But with Project Sky, this takes a backseat to emphasise customisation and creative freedom.
Obviously there are some quest elements in the game to help you out, but they’re not as prominent as in other titles. You get to customise the world and the packs you use first, and create an experience which works for you. There’s very little in the way of restrictions or boundaries and to be honest that’s quite nice. You can do mostly whatever you want and not worry. Thanks to a collection of both older and newer mods, there’s a lot of customisation. That’s one of the key points stressed by the development team at the end - customisation. It’s all about creating your own custom experience. The way that you interact with the world around you will be so important so you need to get it right in order to succeed.
As customisation is at the forefront of the gameplay experience, the entire mod has been made well and designed to be as customisable and easy to work with as possible. You won’t find that there are gaping lag issues or latency problems - you can experience a smooth and refined product if you have the PC powerful enough to use it. That’s an important thing to keep in mind - you need to check the requirements before you start trying to install anything.
The open-ended experience is basically everything at this point. It means so much that you can create a custom world for yourself that gives you complete creative control from start to finish. A lot of people worry about whether or not they can make the ideal server they want and if they have the skills required to turn dreams into reality. Thankfully, it’s not difficult to do with this particular mod pack - you can make whatever kind of world you desire and it’s there waiting for you. You just have to take a little bit of time to get to know each part of the process and each mod, but that’s not difficult on it’s own.
Overall, these are just a few of the different options that you have available to you when it comes to getting the most from your experiences in this Minecraft mod pack. It’s all about making the world that works best for you and having the courage required to experiment with what’s on offer. If you can’t do that, then progression is going to be a challenge for you, especially in the later half of the game. But if you’re ready to explore this, it is heavily recommended - there’s a lot to appreciate here and it’s all easy to work with.
