Xaero's Minimap

This is unlike most; the look of vanilla Minecraft is not ruined by this minimap mod; it fits well there. For the very first time, a rotating square minimap, with several options in it to display. Circle-shaped minimap and many settings to lock the minimap's rotation so that you allow a fixed directional arrow only.

It can track the players, mobs, or items; it displays either as custom-colored dots or as icons. It allows setting waypoints, visible both on the minimap and in the world, to navigate back to previously visited locations or coordinates, with optional teleportation.

Features

  • Minimalist Design: Retains a look similar to vanilla Minecraft for seamless gameplay.
  • Flexible Size & Zoom: Provides different minimap sizes, including some automatic resizing options, and several zoom levels.
  • Shape: The minimap comes in square or circle form, or you can lock the direction, if that is what you're looking for.
  • Visual Enhancements: Representing entities as dots or icons with custom color options for mobs, players, and items.
  • Waypoints: Unlimited creation, editing, and sorting of waypoints; options to teleport easily. Waypoints are shown on the minimap and the world display.
  • Cave Mode: When below ground, or when inside buildings, the mod automatically switches to a cave mode whose settings include definitely the detection of the size of the roof.
  • Potion Effects: Permission to control or minimize minimap access or features such as disabling the circles and/or waypoints for players on your server.

Waypoint Management

  • Local and Global Waypoints: Sort waypoints by region so that only those in your set distance will appear.
  • Waypoint Sharing: You can share waypoints with your group through in-game chat.
  • Deathpoints: Places an automatic waypoint at the position of death, which can afterwards be turned into a normal waypoint.

Advanced Settings

  • Chunk Grid and Slime Chunk Modes: Show chunk grids or light up slime chunks to help you in the exploration.
  • Custom Light Overlay: Highlights blocks with a custom light value range for easy finding of mob spawn areas.
  • Multi-World Detection: When installed on the server-side, it will create different waypoints for each of the server worlds. It will keep the waypoint management across multiple dimensions organized.
  • Zoom Controls: This provides zoom functionality that can be changed using default key bindings for quick changes according to preference.
  • Entity Radar: This is for toggling hostile and friendly mobs, players, items, arrows; showing and hiding them.

Version Options

  • Full Edition: Includes all features and settings without restrictions.
  • Fair-Play Edition: Designed for fair PVP, this version disables entity displays and cave maps to level the playing field against players who don’t use a minimap.
