Indium - Minecraft Mod
Indium is an addon to the rendering optimization mod Sodium. It provides support for the Fabric Rendering API, which is required by many mods making use of advanced rendering effects and is not directly supported by Sodium. Indium is based on the reference implementation Indigo, part of the Fabric API.
Any mod which relies on the Fabric Rendering API will require Indium in order to function with Sodium. Some examples include, but are not limited to: Campanion Bits and Chisels LambdaBetterGrass Continuity Packages Some mods might not break without the Fabric Rendering API, but they have broken textures and models.
Indium should have zero impact on performance. However, it might be that mods relying on the Fabric Rendering API have an impact themselves. Indium doesn't have any performance gain compared to just using Sodium alone.
No, Indium is an addon for Sodium. To use the Fabric Rendering API supporting Sodium's rendering optimization, both mods have to be used at the same time.
No, Indigo is part of the Fabric API and is the reference implementation of the Fabric Rendering API. Indigo will be automatically disabled once Sodium ist installed.
Yes, to use Sodium with mods relying on the Fabric Rendering API, both Fabric API and Indium are necessary. As things are now, support for Fabric Rendering API is not exactly at the front of the to-do list of the Sodium developers.
Indium All versions of Indium require at least Sodium 0.2.0 or newer. The latest stable versions of Sodium for 1.18 and 1.19 are supported at this time. Iris does not necessarily support the very latest release or build of Indium; if you encounter issues please consult with Iris support.
