Bobby Mod - Extending Minecraft's Render Distance

Bobby Mod- Extremely powerful tool to allow in-game rendering in Minecraft over the view distances set by any server; usually the standard mechanic is that the server takes on the task of deciding your rendered visibility at any one time, relying on its settings. Allows areas that normally would be hidden from sight. Bobby saves chunks coming from the server and loads it after some time to create bigger rendering.

How it works: Bobby caches all of the chunks that the server sends to him and saves them inside of the.minecraft/.bobby folder. And after some time, when those chunks are well outside of the server's vanilla view-distance, it gives that chunk and displays said chunks.

Besides that, Bobby has the option to use any existing single-player world to actually load chunks that the Server has never sent. All you actually need to do is rename you world folder (not the word name, but the FOLDER name) to something like 'bobby-fallback' and Bobby will used that world to load said missing chunks.

Key Features:

  • Greater Render Distance: Bobby allows you to increase your render distance far beyond what the server is configured to send, and it makes your world look so much bigger and more detailed.
  • Chunk Storage: Bobby keeps track of the chunks the server sends him and caches them. This way, you could revisit previously loaded chunks, even when they are outside of the active render range sent by the server.
  • Fallback mechanism: if the server hasn't sent chunks, the mod can also draw them from your single-player world to display. This means that, even if the server hasn't sent it yet, the game will keep loading more content.
  • Client-Side: The mod of Bobby is purely client-side, so for using it, you don't need to change anything on the server. Therefore, it is great in case you are a solo player, or your server doesn't need any changes.
