The Draugr Fang. It might sound like the sort of item that’s found as a drop from Draugr enemies, but in reality, this simple-sounding item is actually an incredibly powerful weapon that can be crafted in the game. Given this, it’s well worth understanding what the Draugr Fang bow is and the recipe you’ll need to craft this handy weapon; it might just serve you well during your own adventures, as well. After all, having a powerful ranged weapon to hand is often incredibly useful, making the Valheim Draugr Fang bow an appealing option for many players.
Before we go any further, it’s first important that we clarify what the Draugr Fang is in Valheim. The Draugr Fang is a unique type of weapon in Valheim that’s one of only six different types of bows in the game. The Draugr Fang, as a unique named item, allows players to deal damage over a ranged distance; this is in contrast to traditional weapons which require the player to attack with a melee attack instead.
As we’ve already mentioned, the Draugr bow is one of a relatively limited number of ranged weapons - more specifically bows - in Valheim that allows players to deal damage to foes over a longer distance rather than having to attack on a close-up basis. This, in turn, makes the bow an exceptionally useful weapon while exploring the lands of Valheim thanks to the ability to attack creatures from a distance, dealing 47 piercing damage and 5 poison damage. In addition, the Draugr Fang bow also deals 3x backstab, 47 stagger, and 20 knockback effect. Keep in mind when using the Draugr Fang bow that your movement speed will be reduced by a significant 5%. Furthermore, you will need to allow 2.5 seconds to draw the bow; try to account for this when planning your attacks to help increase the chances of hitting your foes.
The Draugr Fang bow is a craftable weapon and one of the higher-grade bows in the game, with only two other bow types being stronger than it. Given this, the Draugr Fang bow isn’t necessarily the easiest to craft, requiring a large number of materials; fortunately, these aren’t generally too difficult to get hold of if you know where to look. The first material you’ll need is ten ancient barks. Ancient bark is found in the swamp biome and can be obtained by chopping Ancient Trees with a bronze axe (or better) or otherwise picked up in chests within the
The next material - and the easiest to obtain - is two deer hides. Deer are common throughout the starting Meadows biome, meaning you’ll be able to get them shortly after starting your new private server game with a premium ScalaCube Valheim server. Deer always drop hides, so you will only need to kill one or two deer to get enough hides for the bow. However, don’t forget that deer hides are quite widely used for crafting, especially in the early game; so, you may want to stock up on deer hides during the early game.
Another resource you’ll need is ten guck, which you can get in the swamp biome from Gucksacks and by slaying Abominations. Abominations drop between three and four gucks, so this shouldn’t be too difficult. Finally, you’ll also need to get hold of twenty silver, which is found within the Ashlands in Ancient Pots and Putrid Holes. Given this, you won’t be able to make the Draugr Fang bow in the early game, but it’s worth knowing the recipe and stocking up on materials throughout your travels.
It may come as a surprise, but the Draugr fang is not actually a crafting material in Valheim but instead is a unique type of bow. As such, you cannot craft anything with the Draugr fang itself, but you can craft a Draugr Fang bow from ten ancient bark, twenty silver, two deer hides, and ten gucks.
The Draugr Fang bow in Valheim deals two types of damage. Its primary damage type is piercing damage; however, it can also deal additional poison damage. The base damage stats are 47 and 5, however, these can be upgraded to 56 and 20 respectively for a Quality 4 bow.
If you’ve been looking to add a new ranged weapon to your arsenal in Valheim, you’ll have somewhat limited options - but the Draugr Fang is just one such option. The Draugr Fang bow is one of Valheim’s relatively few bows, being unique in its ability to deal both poison and piercing damage. Given this, it’s easy to see why so many people decide to craft a Draugr Fang at the first opportunity for their own arsenal of weapons, too.
