The Ancient Armor, previously called the Golden Armor, is an enigmatic and necessary armor set hidden in a secret cave. Gaining this Sons of the Forest armor is necessary for the game to seed its conclusion. The Rebreather has to be the first thing players must acquire to get the armor, and then they have to slip through a difficult, flooded cave system. This guide will walk you through every journey step, from preparing with the necessary gear to finding the exact Sons of the Forest golden armor location. Let's jump into the details and ensure you're ready for this adventure.
Preparing to Get the Ancient Armor
Before they go into the cave to get the ancient armor in Sons of the Forest, players must first collect the necessary items. The Rebreather is the most essential item as the cave system has many flooded areas. It is a smaller cave located in the north beach spawn point, marked on the GPS. It should be somewhere nearby. Search for the yellow barrels around the area to know that you're in the right spot.
The Rebreather is definitely important, but it is also advisable to have a Flashlight since the cave is dark. The Flashlight is situated near the snowy mountain. The thing is a dead person holding the GPS Locator, and it is marked on the map as a purple mark. Keep in mind that the Flashlight runs on batteries that can be found at campsites and loot crates scattered around the forest.
Moreover, if you want to survive the cave's challenging environment, you need to gather supplies like meat, energy drinks, health consumables, crafted armor, and ammo. Transporting the risky route through powerful ranged weapons like the Shotgun or the Revolver will ensure that you have sufficient ammo.
Where to find Ancient Armor in Sons of the Forest
The ancient armor resided in a cave on a hill near a coastal lake on the mountain's southwest side. The entrance is the first part of the cave; you will find two dead cultists in white robes, who give clues regarding the storyline in Sons of the Forest. The cave mouth is sealed off with planks, which can be broken down using any kind of weapon.
Inside, you will require the Rebreather first. You will go through a pool of water normally filled with Solafite deposits and life jackets. On the side are some air tanks if you run out of air. Go to the left side of the tunnel until you resurface in another area.
Be ready to face the mutants in this very large cave. Stealth weapons like the Crossbow or Bow and Arrow are a very good way of silently taking them out. Alternatively, you can run past them to a downward slope next to a yellow cave drawing. Slide down the slope, fall into another pool of water, and swim until you find an area where the path is no longer flooded. At this place, you will see several dead cultists and the valuable loot around them.
The left side of the cave is filled with a path made of skeletons and wooden planks on its side. If you follow it to the end, you will find an open room with a gold light at the back and a small tunnel illuminated by red to the right. After that, continue down the red tunnel, crouching where the ceiling is low until you come to a short hallway with gold grates on the right wall.
Beating the Demon mutants in this place using the Cross is one way to get past the grates into a rocky area. Then, move deeper into the cave until you come to a large pool with a waterfall in the center and more golden grates on the walls. The way past the waterfall will lead you to this area. This is where you will find the cultists who are leaning against a rock illuminated by light on your left and a hallway lined with Solafite Ore.
Gold deposits are the key that you should look for on the walls as they will tell you if you are on the correct way. Get past the entrance, which is blocked by wooden planks, and then travel through the corridor where crosses are hanging from the ceiling, and at the end is a rope leading down. Climb down the rope and go through the tunnel with gold grates on both sides until you get to a fork in the road.
The right path is the one that is flooded, therefore, take the Rebreather and swim through to it.
After swimming through a narrow underwater tunnel, they emerge for air only to be met by a host of mutants. Go to the left side, around a small corner, and check for Solafite Ore. If you take the right path, you'll come across a small opening with a body in a space suit. Follow the electrical disturbances to find a large room with a broken-down spacecraft and dead astronauts around it.
In the back of the spaceship, break the boarded-up door to uncover the ancient armor and an artifact piece at the front of the ship. You have now accomplished the mission of locating the Sons of the Forest gold armor, and you can carry on with your adventure.
