Have you ever wondered about how to get to the Pirates’ Cove in Stardew Valley? The Ginger Island Pirate Cove isn’t necessarily the easiest location to find; however, if you have been wondering about where this is and how to get to it, we’ve outlined all of the main things you need to know about accessing the Pirate Cove in Stardew Valley as follows to help.
What is the Pirate Cove in Stardew Valley?
Before we go any further, we should first consider what the Pirate Cove is in Stardew Valley. Simply put, the Pirate Cove in Stardew Valley is a small region that is found on the east side of the Island Southeast region of Ginger Island. The Cove, as you may have guessed from the name, is a secluded area that’s exclusively limited to pirates, and a number of pirates will sometimes gather in the Cove after 8pm at night. However, if you visit the Cove in the day time, it is largely deserted.
The Cove itself is relatively well hidden and you’ll need to solve a puzzle in order to access it. Don’t worry, though, as we’ll be covering everything you need to know shortly to help with this.
Where is the Pirate Cove in Stardew Valley Located?
By now, you’re probably wondering: where is the Pirate Cove in Stardew Valley actually located, and how can you get to it? Well, the Pirate Cove is located to the East of the Beach, where a somewhat hidden entrance allows you to access an additional section of Beach. This entrance is only cleared of Debris once you have unlocked the Beach Resort.
You’ll notice here that the area has a star-shaped pond and a large amount of debris strewn about. As part of this, alongside the very Eastern-most cliff, you’ll notice a pile of flat planks; this is the secret entrance to the Pirate Cove, and walking through this allows you to access the Cove itself.
What if I Can’t Find the Entrance to the Pirate Cove?
If you can’t find the entrance to the Pirate Cove, there are two likely scenarios:
- You have not yet unlocked the West Island and the Island Farmhouse
- You have not unlocked the Beach Resort to clear the debris.
If you continue to struggle with finding the Pirate Cove, keep exploring the south east corner of the beach resort until you find the access. This is not directly marked, so if you didn’t notice the pile of rubble initially, you may just have to keep exploring until you find the cut through to the beach.
What Can I Do in the Pirate Cove
The Pirate Cove in Stardew Valley is an incredibly picturesque and stunning location in the game and is well worth visiting for the sights alone. However, there’s also plenty you can do in the Pirate Cove - if you know when to visit, that is.
Going Fishing in the Island Pools
One thing you can do in the Pirate Cove at any time of day is go fishing. The pools in the Pirate Cove are home to a number of different fish species, including Flounders, Lionfish, Tuna, Pufferfish, Stingrays, and Super Cucumbers.
Notably, Stingrays can only be caught in the Pirate Cove pools, similarly to how Ghostfish can only be caught in mine pools. As a result, it’s well worth unlocking the Pirate Cove as soon as possible once you have unlocked Ginger Island, especially since Stingrays can be traded for Mahogany Seeds with the Island Trader.
Visiting the Pirates
What would a Pirate Cove be without genuine pirates? Luckily, the Ginger Island Pirate Cove doesn’t disappoint in this regard, and if you visit on dry, even-numbered days after 8pm, you’ll find a band of pirates hanging out quite merrily! Thereas’s even a manned bar - nice.
The Pirates can be interacted with and you can even challenge them to a game of darts, if you so wish. Winning darts three times against the pirates will reward you with golden walnuts, although you can continue to play after you meet this three-win cut off. In addition, you can also interact with the pirates and even get a bottle of free mead from the bar if you’ve dressed in appropriate attire. Namely, this means you’ll need to wear one of the following:
- Pirate hat (which can be crafted at a sewing machine from cloth and a treasure chest)
- Deluxe pirate hat (found within rare chists in the Volcano Dungeon)
- Eye patch (purchased for 5000g from the Cat Maus’ shop in the abandoned house after getting the Master Angler achievement)
Of course, this does rely on the pirates being around the populate the Cove. Fortunately, one thing that’s much less unreliable than the Pirates in Stardew Valley is Scala Cube’s premium Stardew Servers - so, you’ll never have to worry about a laggy, slow, or unstable server experience again.
